THE FIRST STEP TO FINANCIAL AID:
    REGISTERING FOR YOUR PIN
The first step in the financial aid process is
registering for your PIN. Although you
cannot begin the financial aid process until
January 1, 2014, you can register for your PIN now.
You and your parents will need to register for a PIN.
Note: If your parent has a PIN for a sibling or
themselves, they will not register for another PIN.
They will use their PIN when completing your FAFSA.
Your PIN can be used each year to electronically apply
for federal student aid and to access your Federal
Student Aid records online. If you receive a PIN, you
agree not to share it with anyone. Your PIN serves as
your electronic signature and provides access to your
personal records, so your should never give your PIN
to anyone, including commercial services that offer to
help you complete your FAFSA. Be sure to keep your
    PIN in a safe place.
To apply for a PIN, go to
    www.pin.ed.gov/PINWebApp/pinindex.jsp and follow
